"FUTURE PERSPECTIVE" CULTURE AND SPORTS COVID 19

GCE GLOBAL:
Hello, Carlos! We welcome you to this webinar, we know that you are a lawyer from the Cooperative University, General Director and Founder of the Kioncha Foundation, I want to give you a warm welcome, Carlos Andres.

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Good afternoon and thank you for inviting me, that’s right, I am a Lawyer and Founder of the Kioncha Foundation.

GCE GLOBAL:
Well, it’s great to see you again, I thank you for your time, I understand that the topic we are going to talk about today is called “FUTURE PERSPECTIVE” CULTURE AND SPORTS COVID 19 tell us about it.

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Well first of all, both sectors that we are going to talk about today are particular in the sense that they are immensely collective, that is to say, both sport and culture bring together actors in their different sectors, you may wonder what this means, maybe I I am giving my perspective, opinion not an objective view. (The rest of the answer is in the video.)

GCE GLOBAL:
How is Covid affecting the economy in sports?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
This situation has forced society to shut itself down and stop the sports economy, since there is no flow of people training or practicing their trades in the respective sports locations, athletes need to change locations. As for demonstrating and publicizing their sports from home, athletes are entertained by recording their practices and making use of social platforms to be able to exhibit themselves as they would in person.

GCE GLOBAL:
As for athletes, how are they affected by the pandemic?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Athletes are affected in such a way that their discipline is affected, and they are prevented from continuing to build their physical figure.

Their physical preparation has been forced to be incorporated at home, now the difficulty they have is the lack of tools for physical preparation that is not found in the house of high performance athletes, in summary their routine and way of maintaining their physical as athletes are paralyzed.

GCE GLOBAL:
Regarding the world economy, does the paralysis of sport cause any effect?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
The sports industry, after being paralyzed by the global situation, generates a great economic fall, since this industry, as a percentage of world gross domestic product, this industry contributes 3-4% to the world economy, this situation creates a gap in the worldwide economy.

GCE GLOBAL:
To have an idea of a number, how much money is lost due to this paralysis?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Since the FIFA Leagues, the NBA and even Japan, which spent 23.5 billion in adaptation and accommodation for athletes in the Olympic Games, had losses due to the world situation, it can be estimated with a postponement of 2021 around 6,000 million dollars .

GCE GLOBAL:
What can be said to the parents of children who trained daily and today are locked up with Mental Anxiety and Depression problems?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Very good question. I would say that I know that mental problems are going to affect everyone due to confinement. Now, one way to maintain mental balance is culture and socialization, even if it is virtual, keeping in touch with helps people to have a healthier balance, other options are a lot of meditation, water, healthy foods and everything you find that makes your body feel good, find what does not harm your body and that leads you to have absolute harmony, that helps balance in all aspects.

GCE GLOBAL:
What can be some new reality in terms of contact sports?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Today we find ourselves in this situation that for our safety and health we have to keep distance from each other and solutions for these contact sports such as soccer could be to use virtual reality, taking advantage of the existing FIFA video games or in different cases such as virtual championships with cheerleader routines which they do from their homes to cheer up leaving aside the figures. (More information in the video.)

GCE GLOBAL:
Let’s talk about what It happens with culture.

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Culture being the largest motive for social connection that exists, which contains a human relevance, the cultural industry at the level of the world economy occupies 3%, this culture is also detained but also in terms of art that is an important part of the culture. Culture finds a way to be able to benefit from current circumstances.

GCE GLOBAL:
In comparison , which is more important to be considered salvageable in these times, culture or sport?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Let’s start with culture, since it is basically being our personal brand as a society, the one that differentiates us and also unites us, the one that helps to solve social problems, it cannot be sacrificed since it takes care of the social aspect of humanity. Now sports are another very important aspect since they help to save people as individuals, they are part of general physical and mental health, both in themselves are essential and complement each other.

GCE GLOBAL:
Give us some alternatives for the new culture in these times of pandemic.

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
At the moment the art industry is stopped, since cinemas, theaters, orchestras, galleries and shows are closed since no more crowds are allowed.

I propose a change in the style of scenarios which are adapted to these times, the reason is that the magic and feeling of the arts being shown on the internet is completely lost. (More information in the video.)

GCE GLOBAL:
What can the film industry do about the current situation?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
The film and theater industry always has this factor of physical contact but, for example, many of the content creators are testing the commitment and traffic that opera can have through online transmissions and theater spectrums and even music they practice this. (More interesting facts in the video.)

GCE GLOBAL:
Do you think that theater has an uncertain future?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
We are at a time in which the theater is effectively facing a very uncertain future, for the theater it is necessary to think about how to make the theater in more innovative and digital ways, it is redesigned, renewing the designs of the theaters themselves for the presentation of his art, and the safety of the spectators may be the hopes of the theatre.

GCE GLOBAL:
Regarding photography, can you tell us about uncertainty and creativity in the culture of photography?

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Photography for years has left the state of agglomerated work since photographers are hired individually, with the advent of social networks such as instagram, this network is now part of the sale of photographs for photographers, and there are even banks of photographs to which one can buy photos directly from the photographers. this photographic aspect has been in the virtual realm for a long time.

GCE GLOBAL:
Tell us about the musicians who have focused their art from being private to now being public and generated from the balconies of their homes.

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
As a society, I believe that we should behave like a hive of bees, not because of the negative and hard-working sense, but because of the collective union that is part of our nature to make or give us more strength to cope with this situation in a more united way, so there is distance. now musicians create music to support society, in these times it has been shown that musicians are not just objects of an industry but are human beings within an industry.

GCE GLOBAL:
Well, thank you very much Carlos for being here with us, it has been very pleasant to be able to learn and become more educated about the economy and cultural situation that is evident in these uncertain times.

CARLOS ANDRES BARBOSA:
Thank you very much for inviting me and allowing me to share my knowledge with you and with the followers, remember that this global stagnation is going to completely change the economy and always expect a new beginning.

When one stage ends, another will begin, so do not be afraid, this will bring us a new opportunity, remember that humanity has already survived other crises of this kind, so we can survive another one.
